MY BIOGRAPHY IN A NUTSHELL
I was born in Edmonton, July 4th 1946, the youngest of 2.
Father retired from the R. C. M. P and then was in several businesses.
We moved to Sicamous when I was 9, then back to Edmonton when I was 10, then to Gleichen when I was 11 and Enderby when I was 15.
My mother studied painting, copper work, leather work, pottery.
I learned to sew, cook, bake, copper work, and drive a nail at home.
When I was 10 I was given my first camera and at 11 I was given my first dark room set.
When I was 12, my mother put me into oil painting lessons. I had a painting hung at the Banff School of Fine Arts.
Years later I attended Emily Carr - Cow Mountain, 2 summers in a row. I studied composition and colour darkroom.
In 1990, I went back to school, VVI, and earned a certificate in computer technology.
In 1994 I met `Bin’ though the mail. We were married for five years and after 10 years I married her sister who was 10 years younger. My friend Paul and I went to Ixtapa in Feb. 2001 and we have been going there, every second year, since.

T-9 - Nov. Fly to China: Sanya, Shanghai
The day after we arrived, in China, my ex mother-in-law passed away. As my Ex's sister was now at loose ends, she had been baby-sitting their mother for the past few years, I agreed to marry her, my ex sister-in-law, and bring her to Canada.
After only a short stay in China I flew back to Vancouver to get the paperwork ready to get married.
After filing the paperwork with the Chinese Embassy, I booked a flight to China. I had three weeks to wait for the paper work to come back so I booked a flight to Mexico.

(August) Friday the 13th was an exciting day for my in-laws in Shanghai.
First: My eldest nephew informed them he would be coming in Oct. to get married.
Second: My next eldest nephew informed them he would be arriving in December to get married.
Then: My wife, Jin Mei, received all the paperwork, from the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, allowing her to move to Canada. Up to this time her family did not know that we were married.

As a wedding present we treated YI Ming and his new bride to a trip to Wen Zhou. As they had accompanied his aunt, and I, on our honeymoon we thought it only fair that we accompany them on theirs.
Dec. 14. I returned from Shanghai.
Dec.15. I went to the airport and met Jin Mei
(W5) and her son Dong Dong. They weren’t able to get tickets on the
same flight as me, or perhaps that is vice versa.
Dec. 17. We went tree hunting but after consuming
much fuel we never found one.
Dec. 18. We went shopping. Close to the grocery
store was a home hardware. They were selling trees. For the
first time in my life I bought a tree. That night we were up until 2 AM decorating the tree. It was their first Xmas
tree, and my first, in many years.
From the time I had gone to Shanghai until late Dec.
Malia, (Jin Mei) and I had not been getting along. Boxing Day Malia and I
had a big row. I packed her bags and moved her to her sister's place. (Bin
(W4) was still in Shanghai).
Dec. 28. I phoned Van Kam. They said they
didn’t need a driver that day but would probably call me the next day
Jan. 3. Not having heard from Van Kam I thought
I would try someone else. I phoned Reimer Express Lines to see if
they needed a town driver on the afternoon shift. They told me to call
back the next day and talk to the operations manager. I also phoned
TropiMex. I had seen an ad that said they wanted drivers to haul to
Texas. I can't remember if I saw the ad in the Canada Manpower listings
or the Vancouver Sun classified. I did find it on the internet.
Jan. 4. Teamsters 31 phoned me and asked if I
had ever worked for Reimers. I said, “A few years ago”.They asked me if I would like to go to Reimers and drive town tractor
on the afternoon shift.
I worked two shifts and then the night shift slowed down
because of snow.

I put my apartment up for sale. After returning from my first trip with Mexico Trading I made up with Malia and she helped me pack my stuff. By the time I came back from my second trip my apartment had been sold, for $43 K more than I had paid for it. When I returned from my third trip to Texas Malia helped me put my stuff in storage.

When I returned from my fourth trip to Texas Serena [(Jin Mei, formerly Malia) Don't ask me why they changed it. (They also changed Dong Dong's name from Donny to Jason.)] and I, formerly moved into Bin's apartment. Bin and Serena had been sharing her Queen size bed and Jason was sleeping on a mattress beside it. When I am home between trips Jason sleeps with Danny in his double bed and Bin sleeps on the couch.

Early in the year I bought an apartment in Burnaby but it had a 3 month possession date to give the seller time to find another place. It is a 2 bedroom apartment on the 10th floor with a small balcony looking to the East. I can see a bit of the Fraser River, parts of New Westminster, Burnaby, Burnaby Mountain. In June, Serena, Jason, and I, moved in but Jason, in Sept. moved back to Bin's to be closer to school.

T- 14 We flew to PV (Puerto Vallarta) on Jan. 18. We spent a couple of days in PV then rented a car. We drove North around:
Later, on the way back, we tried to drive through but in the North part of town the streets along the highway are dead ends.
In the South part of the town, the street along the water was very rough and crowded,
By the time we found the market area we were tired of this town that we had heard so much of. The air was getting cool and it was getting windy so we made our way back to the highway.
Just North of Manzanilla we found a fantastic beach. Only one restaurant and the parking lot was filled with cars from Canada, mostly from La Belle Province, (Quebec).
When we finally found the turn off into Sayulita we went on by.
