Unlike the Zoo in Shanghai, the Greater Vancouver Zoo is not on a city bus route.

In actuality it is not in the city. It is several miles East, near the town of Aldergrove.

Guided tour, or private car, will take you East on the Trans Canada highway, for about a half hour, to highway 264, or 264th Street.

Turn South for 2 minutes and you will see the entrance. Use the second driveway, on your left.

Take note of your parking space as you will need to know the number when you buy a parking ticket, $3.00, at the machine inside the entrance gate.

Entrance rates are a bit steep, like everything else in the Vancouver area, at $18 for adults.

The advantage of visiting a zoo in the winter is that there are fewer people to block your view.

The large cat cages were not the last place we visited, but I save, for me, the best for the last.
As we were passing by the handler was dishing out treats, and as there were few other visitors, at the time, it was a great photo op.

There are many more displays of other animals, however, it started to rain.

If you find yourself in Vancouver with a day on your hands, and if you like zoos, the Greater Vancouver Zoo is a must see. Take plenty of film and plan on spending a full day.

The zoo is located East of the city, 264 St., just South of the Trans Canada Highway, towards Aldergrove.
