Belcara Regional Park is located on `Indian Arm' of the Burrard Inlet.

Sasamat lake is a small lake that is easy to access for Vancouverites and therefore is very popular.
The small parking lot fills rapidly on a nice day and the gate is locked after the parking lot is full.

The two beaches are separated by an area of trees with; wash/change rooms and, picnic tables, with metal end tables for hibachis.

The Northern section of beach features a concession stand and a roped off area for swimmers.

Families and inexperienced swimmers prefer the Southern beach as it has a long gradual slope in the water.
At the Northern beach, experienced swimmers; go beyond the roped area, dive off rocks, and swim across the lake.

There is a hiking trail, 2.5 Km. long. The trail doesn't circumnavigate the lake but crosses the lower, narrow part of the lake via a pontoon bridge.
The bridge features two staging areas for fishermen and swimmers.
